Hi people just thought i would start a thread. Basically as a brit i believe that the majority of american people dont like fighters that aren't from there country. They just like to hate because they are jelous and have biased views. Personally, i think that the talent of boxing is no longer dominated by americans with many europeans, russians etc coming through the ranks. However, the yanks hate simply because they don't know fighters who arent american.
Please discuss
Justifiably so.Euro fighters suck. Those bums give all foreign fighters a bad name.Comment

it's not that americans "automatically hate" euro fighters! when a european fighter comes to fight against an american most europeans on this form flood the board with Calzaghe is going to own.... hatton is gonna knockout... david haye is the greatest... and it's the same **** every time, so naturally we defend the fighters we know and support, so we get automatically labeled "euro haters"Comment

The thread is a bit unfair, Americans have a lot more scope to support other boxers because they have all the good guys fighting over there from surrounding countries.
I know Warren tried to sign Alexander Povetkin but we never get overseas guys campaigning over here.Comment

Of course you do. America has set a standard. With ATG's like Robinson, Ali, Joe Louis, Leonard etc,.
This is the center of boxing.
And the british have to realize that they can't just come over here and expect 60,000 hooligans to automatically be their fans and sell out an arena. You have to earn just your 20,000 fans in the arena. Nothing over here is easy.Comment

This thread is ******ed. Plenty of Americans like British fighters just like plenty of Brits like Americans fighters.
Im British and i like guys like Oscar, Floyd (inside the ring), Juan Diaz, Hopkins and others.
I know plenty of Americans who are fans of fighters like Hatton, Calzaghe and Haye too.
Obviously there are small minded haters who think like this but now everyone does.Comment

I'm an American, and most of my favorites are not from the US: Calzaghe, Wladimir, Povetkin, etc.Comment

"calzaghe stunk up the place",,,,what and hopkins was the height of integrity right?? american boxing would be on its ass if it werent for the euros, don king ravaged the sport to the point of implosion, you my friend are delusional.Hi, I'm American.
Joan Guzman sig/avy.
I'm a huge Pacquiao fan.
Huge Marquez/Vazquez as well.
Edison Miranda defender 4life.
Active Miguel Cotto supporter.
And believe it or not, but I'm really starting to like David Haye a lot.
So yeah, your theory sucks. The heavyweight division problem is A). Lack of exposure here in the states and B). All of them either suck or are boring as **** to watch. Klitschko completely BLEW his shot at becoming an american star. Ricky Hatton was actually well liked here and probably the majority of people related more to Hatton than Mayweather. Calzaghe basically stunk up the joint in Vegas and blew his shot too.
Lennox Lewis, I remind you, was a HUGE name here in the states.Comment
