Joe isn't any spring chicken either.

Glen Johnson was 14 years older than Chad Dawson and look what happened there.

Okay bro, i made a mistake, i though Joe was 33.

He is one of the toughest, craftiest, most skilled fighters in middleweight history. Believe is or not, Calzaghe is better than he was when he was in his younger days. he is a better pure boxer and does not get hit as much now. He has always threw looping shots, volume punches and was off balance after he throws and Hopkins had the perfect game plan to take advantage of it. Prime Hopkins beats Calzaghe 9 fights out of 10.
Please name one fighter better than Joe that Hopkins beat that was the same size as him.

peek hops wasn't nearly as good a fighter as he is now. hops was at his best about 5 years ago he is now staring to decline physically or has the lst 2 years. regardless he may not have quite the level of athletsism that he used to but he is a smarter fighter and the last thing you loose is your punch not that he is a great puncher mind you. His decline in physical ability is being mactched by his contuned shrewedness and savy. Joe cal is 36 and even at 36 I doubt that hpkins could keep up the effective workrate that Joe can every fight.

This BS gets boring, these jokers talk like Calzaghe is 21 years old.

The anti-boxer has always been a spoiler and a holder, he would have tried to holds his way to victory ten years ago too.

Since when have you known peak Hopkins to tire down the stretch? Yes he is more experienced now, but he is as smart as he was then and he used his entire repertoire of punches. Last night, he only used his straight right hand lead the entire time. When he was in his younger days, he had better use of the jab, his reflexes was better, his foot speed was better, has a more diverse arsenal, had far better stamina and was more elusive. He would be too much for Calzaghe. In fact, i would choose a motivated Hopkins that fought Taylor 2 years over Calzaghe. he ha the perfect game plan and if he nearly pulled it off today at 43 against a peak Calzaghe, what would happen when he could fight for the full 12?

Please tell me that you are joking, let me revise your question. What fighter did Calzaghe beat that was as good as Hopkins? No one because he didn't leave the Uk. Don't get me wrong, Calzaghe is a great fighter. But don't act like he wasn't protected.

wow who seen this coming ? A joe victory hand in hand with Bernard fanboys claiming it WAS the age that was the difference!

even bernard before the fight said he was in great shape and his age was NOT a factor.

get over it, Joe won because he was the better man.
