Calzaghe was dangerous in his younger days. I believe he would have stopped Hopkins before he started with the injuries.

Don't forget, Calzaghe is 36, trains in an old shed, eats bacon sandwiches, and runs through Welsh valleys. Mackie Shilstone was paid to tell Hopkins he has a body of a 28 year old. What happened there?

The skinny white kid wins, give him his props.

Ashame a younger Hopkins ducked Cazlaghe. Calzaghe beat Eubanks then Hopkins was pissing himself, I think Joe would have beaten Hopkins ass worse back then. Hopkins prime was when he beat Trinidad and Oscar which was far more recently. Hopkins got better with age not worse

He was still in good physical form. He didn't look old at all. He was understandably tired at the end and Joe outhustled him to steal it. No, Joe didn't prove himself to be far superior by any means, but simple age didn't cause Hopkins to lose cuz the fight was still winnable for him by points or a KO.

I won't argue with prime Hopkins beating prime Calzaghe, but in 2 rounds?

You can't point out to me a middleweight or super middleweight in history that would stop Hopkins. Beating him is one thing, but saying that he would stop him is borderline insane. He is one of the toughest, craftiest, most skilled fighters in middleweight history. Believe is or not, Calzaghe is better than he was when he was in his younger days. he is a better pure boxer and does not get hit as much now. He has always threw looping shots, volume punches and was off balance after he throws and Hopkins had the perfect game plan to take advantage of it. Prime Hopkins beats Calzaghe 9 fights out of 10.

** Hah, Hops was born and bred an old man. When was his prime, when he was dropped twice by Mercado after losing to Jones?

Hops a modern day Billy Papke. He needs spoiler tactics to stay in the game, and now his milk is spoilt. He's gone from done to well done and burnt is next.

He's no Ketchel, Greb, Monzon or Hagler but a second tier great. No shame in that except that the poor chap has to be kicked out of a party that ended long ago.

He claims to be a promoter now while uglying up boxing in a manner that would make Juanita the Quit Please Man Ruiz proud.

Calzaghe did what he had to do against an ugly spoiler and doubtless won't be uglying up the ring in the future having committed to an honourable retirement.

Bernard is 43 while Joe is 10 years younger. You guys know that a gap of 10 years of age is a big diffirence.
                    43 - 36 = 10

Joe isn't any spring chicken either.

Glen Johnson was 14 years older than Chad Dawson and look what happened there.
