really? cause as i see it he was severely underated until his Kessler win. The only time that people started becoming fan was when he beat down Lacy but moreso Kessler. Calzaghe has been underated his entire career only near the home stretch have people taken notice, much like Hopkins.
He was a paper champ until he beat ODLH & Trinidad who were welters moving up. Kessler would beat the **** out of Miranda like Pavlik did but with more authority. Give Kessler a break, he fought the undisputed SMW champ and made it a fight he wants to regain his belts let him decide when to fight Miranda. Kessler will get his belts then put a beat down on Miranda.

    EDIT: 1000th post

Its the biggest fight out there for him, money he was asking for was matched, it was going to be a ten rounder like he wanted (less rounds equal less chance of being knocked out I guess), and he still pulled out. Now, no boxer is a coward because they risk their life in thier profession but he is definately acting like one. After seeing Lacy look like a bum in fights post Joe, and now Kessler not even willing to fight, Im convinced Joe will be in shock when he steps in with Hopkins, as he has never been in the ring with anyone as remotely talented or with the heart of Hopkins, April 19th..the execution is coming soon
You have to understand that the bias British fans will hype up ANY fighter that one of their guys beats. These guys were calling Luis Collazo a great welterweight after he beat Hatton. They were making Peter Manfredo out to be a respectable fight for Calzaghe. And of course they said Kessler was a great fighter even though he's never beaten anyone good. Calzaghe's win over Kessler has lost a lot of credibility now that Kessler has shown himself to be a coward.

Haha, there's absolutely no logic to this! Kessler is a coward because he'd rather fight Mundine for a world title than fight Miranda for 400.000 euro's. If that is so, how did he have to guts to go to Wales and fight Joe Calzaghe? This would mean that Miranda, a guy who's been beaten to the ground in a lower division, is a more fearsome prospect than going to Wales to fight a top5 P4P chamion who's been champ for 10 years, and who ruined the career of Jeff Lacy. Get real.

I would also prefer Kessler to fight Miranda, rather than Mundine, but that is because I believe Miranda's a much easier fight.

            That's almost obvious.

Miranda is exciting and I'd prefer Kessler-Miranda to be honest, for the action.

But Miranda has not only lost to the two best guys he's fought, he really hasn't done much else of note. Both Miranda and Mundine have been winning against very pedestrian competition. But Mundine has been fighting at 168 for longer, and has had better fights at that weight

Who ever said Manfredo was a respectable fight for Calzaghe?!! Wow. Even Joe knows it wasn't, he was bored out of his brains and really couldn't get motivated for that fight. It's common knowledge. The only reason he took the fight is because Manfredo was a known name in the USA and Joe used the opportunity to get a little recognition.

I have to disagree with you about Kessler, the guy is top notch. Sure he doesn't have a resume full of ATG's but it's pretty damn obvious to anyone who knows a bit about boxing that he has good skills and a devastating punch. Beautiful 1-2's, and all-round class as a boxer.

Kessler, by not fighting Miranda, is not a coward. He's made a better business decision. Fighting Miranda is a step down the ladder, would earn him less money, and there are no belts to gain. Miranda is not worth the effort. Let's look at the situation sensibly, not just brand him a coward for turning down a pointless fight.

How anyone can disrespect Kessler is absurd.
