Danny Green (25-3, 22KOs), the current WBA light heavyweight champion, confirmed the recent rumors of his retirement. Green, 35, told reporters that he plans to retire as soon as possible to protect his health and spend more time with his family. Why retire mid training for a defense of the world title and lose a payday AND the massive money he would get for the mundane rematch??

maybe he got a beatdown in sparring or just lost his nerve.
