Talks are ongoing between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions for a deal to match WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (34-1, 30KOs) against unbeaten Juan Manuel Lopez (19-0, 17KOs) of Puerto Rico.

These talks are really a moot point, being that Ponce De Leon has a rematch with the worst fight style for him in the form of Celestino Cabellero. If by some circumstance he comes out on top, Ponce De Leon has a completely different style with JML.
Lopez is a big puncher, a southpaw, and has very quick hands. That said, so was Rey Bautista. Lopez has never fought anyone as rugged as Ponce De Leon, so this could be heaven or hell. If Lopez moves and keeps his man turning, this will be cake. If he tries to trade, he'll be in for some serious issues. Ponce is not a guy to take lightly. -
Ive been waiting for this fight to happen for a long time now.. Ponce's chances are much better with lopez than the long armed, tall freak Caballero. I really dont wanna see ponce lose agian to caballero.... and i think he has good chances with lopez (another buatista)Comment

I'd rather see him fight Cabellero first then fight Lopez both are tough fights for him. Cabellero being the tougher since he already lost once to him.Comment
