  • Williams Looking For Revenge on Quintana

Promoter Dan Goossen, speaking with El Nuevo Dia, said the rematch between Paul "The Punisher" Williams and WBO welterweight champion Carlos Quintana has a chance of landing in Puerto Rico. Since Quintana, a big underdog, upset Williams for the title on February 9, he's become a hero in the country. Williams has spent a lot of time as of late in Puerto Rico for his training camps. Quintana's style will always give Williams problems but if Williams improves a few things, he can get his revenge.

      I was a believer...

Paul's done at 147. He gave me the impression he can't even make the weight without seriously hurting himself in that last bout. He looked flat out slow against Quintana (which helped with the beat down), like he rolled out of bed after a 12 hour rest and then got in the ring. I'm thinking the Marg fight took some out of him as well (and I'm sure everyone will think that's just speculation but that's cool), just trying to illustrate that on top of getting beat, he didn't look right in there physically to me. Like the energy just wasn't there even when he tried to pick it up. In any case however, he gets beat by Carlos every time based on what we saw. Williams motto of 'offense is defense' works against him here, especially if he has cement in his shoes again. It looked like anybody serious at 147 would've mopped the floor with him that night.

This should be another good fight. Williams needs to use his height and quit following Quintana around, he's not Cotto.

Williams lost so clearly I dont think he deserves a rematch.

True. It all starts with the weight. He looked terrible that night. Like a train ran over him, BUT if Quintana wins again, then PW is really too much of a slapper.

I think Williams should give up WW and try winning a title at 154, where he has a better chance and won't be so weight drained.
