The Manchester Evening News reports that Wembley Stadium has made a very big financial bid for Ricky Hatton's next fight. Hatton is currently in talks to return in hometown on May 24 at Manchester City's Eastlands. Officials for Wembley have made a serious counter-offer to stage Hatton's return on May 31. [details]

Ricky Hatton is a real stand up guy and it says alot to have him give back to the fans like this. Turning down an extra million is a very hard thing to do. I doubt that " Money " or the " Golden Boy " would do the same. Viva La Hitman!Comment

That's cool that Hatton wants to fight in Manchester and on English time for his fans. It's all right with me because his opponent probably won't be somebody that will really challenge him, so watching it in the afternoon here in the states won't be a problem.Comment
