Damnit, what is the point of this fight? Cotto fighting Gomez then the winner of Cintron-Margarito was good enough as it is.

Hope this don't go through, I want a Cotto/Margarito matchup. I don't want Cotto to avoid a major WW fight just b/c Floyd does it and won't give him his shot!!!! Man up and take out the WW division and if Floyd never comes a callin at least you beat a majority of the other top WW's!!!! The only reason this fight makes any sense is b/c Mayorga kinda gots a little following outside of die hard boxing fans just b/c of his antics and ****, smoking and drinking the night before fights and lighting up after fights and ****. So it kinda builds Cotto's name and could get him a step closer to Mayweather!!!! Not sure but IMO Mayorga is better known outside the boxing world as opposed to Margarito, not better, but better known!!!!

It'll be a fun fight to watch, useless of course. I always feel like if a guy's not careful, Mayorga has a real good puncher's chance.. As loopy and as technically unsound as he may be. No question Cotto would win this. but with his head down stalking approach, he may have to eat some mean bombs from Mayorga.

just wait and see this fight will be good, people gotta stop being so impatient and realize that the fights will be made just not when you demand it, you have to realize that this is a business and at anytime you can lose everything just look at Paul Williams, back to square 1 for him, so these guys fight the better recognized names out of the mix, as is unless Antonio Margarito is a champion he ain't in the mix and he's not so let HIM fight Cintron or Quintana but Cotto already beat Quintana and Tony beat Cintron so let him rematch Cintron and get at Quintana, Cotto will be cementing his legacy fighting the better known names of his time, already he's beaten Shane and Zab so imagine if he can add names like Mayweather, De La Hoya, Mayorga and names of such to his W list.

this would be a huge accomplishment for Cotto and it will cement him as one of the best today has to offer, fights will get made and they will all go down in due time so I ain't trippin no more, I'll be as patient as I need to be and save up as much money as I can to bet when they DO happen but I'm tired of fussing about fights that in 1 day or the other are going to be made rendering my every post demanding and bashing fight choices useless, a big waste of time because once those papers get signed and **** is poppin then it's over.. bottomline I ain't trippin, let Cotto-Gomez and Cotto-Mayorga go down so Cotto can add some names to his list while Tony, Quintana and Cintron earn their elite level bones by facing each other and narrowing it down to 3 names and then **** will come full circle and we'll see whats what, until then I have no problem seeing these fights take place..

instead of Bob Arum try to get good fights for cotto is picking up all the leftovers of boxing, look at that, Gomez, mayorga, Matgarito, what the hell is wrong with Bob Arum, is Better for Cotto to start prmotng his own fights.

cotto-margarito is one big fight i love to watch. but cotto-mayorga is also exciting. that's better than cotto fighting an unknown.

Cotto handles Mayorga quite easily. I've given up on the chances that punchers may have against Miguel, He is that Good. Look at his track record against power punchers: Pinto, Bailey, Torres all had monster power, and could not exploit Miguel's "suspect" chin. They all went down inside the distance. Not even Shane, who is a master boxer with speed and power could hurt him. He's past his get hurt early stages, he's settled into his new weight and comfortable now. Punchers do not stand a chance. Given this, Mayorga stands no chance. Waste of time fight.

Mayorga back at 147?..Makes no sense if Cotto fight Mayorga. Cotto - Marg makes send Cotto Williams would of made sense but Quintana spoiled that. Cotto vs the winner of Cintron Mayorga should be good. Mayorga could fight Williams and the winner could get a shot at Quintana..and Quintana should fight Clottey..
