EL MONTE, CALIF. – Former world champion MARTÍN “El Gallo” CASTILLO and three-time world title challenger JOSE NAVARRO hosted a media workout today at the South El Monte Community Gym. Both fighters are training for world title fights which will be broadcast live on the pay-per-view extravaganza headlined by the 12-round rematch between undefeated world middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and former undisputed world champion Jermain Taylor. Promoted by Top Rank and DiBella Entertainment, Pavlik-Taylor II will take place Saturday, February 16 at the MGM Grand and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. ****! Can't Navarro get to face a lesser Champion and not get robbed!!!? Man, Navarro is an under rated fighter, and im going to say only in the USA because i've heard over seas comments that recognize his skills as a boxer and his heart as a warrior. I still don't know much of Mijares, many say he is the real deal, but im going with Navarro on this one. Navarro is hanging tough and will one day be Champion.
He is almost in the same boat as Rocky Juarez, getting jobbed the first title shot and getting another title shot. Navarro i felt won his last title fight but got robbed in a very close fight. Im glad he's fighting in the USA to get a fair title shot but he is going up what many feel is a very good fighter in Mijares.
I belive the undercard fights may end up being better then the main event. If i remember correctly, Andrade v. Bika is also on this card along with Martin Castillo v. Montiel, wow great under card. Then the main event not matter what is going to be a good if not great fight.
