You're an idiot. As if he's going to be fighting world champs straight away.

Watch when he becomes world champ, you're going to look ******.

wow, only 16 fights and he is getting this kind of criticism. he is fighting better opposition than he should be for this early in his career. forget that he is 16-0, he should be getting credit for just taking on the kind of fighters that he is even if they aren't the best. the fact that he is getting criticized for not fighting great fighters at this stage in his career is probably more of a complement if anything. he might not be able to beat Juan Diaz right now but who cares? he could be every other fighter in that division and he will be good enough to beat Diaz in 2-3 years time.

in juan diaz's first 16 fights, he only had 7 ko's against lesser opponents than Khan and Khan already has 12. I don't get the hate for Khan, could someone explain?

              I don't get it either.

It seems that some UK posters, hate him because he gets rammed down our throats, and seems to be getting it all too soon to young. He is easily the most famous boxer in this country despite not having achieved anything in the pro game. However it's really unfair, like you say he has fought great opponents for being 16 fights in and 21 years old.

I think some US posters think he is going to be exposed because all our fighters get exposed apparently.

I'm excited about him. If he fights Romanov and wins, he'll be 21, 17-0, and the commonwealth and european champion.

I can't remember the last British fighter who has achieved so much after that kind of time. Besides David Haye who has gone all out at cruiserweight.

Khan is good. I think everyone knows that. The fact that people want him to the man in his division is testament to his talent. Diaz beats Khan now, but Khan could decision a guy like Katsidis fairly comfortably right now, their on different levels talent wise. I'd be surprised if Katsidis got him. A conservative Khan picks him off all night long.

people need to leave khan alone, he has only had 16 fights and is improving but people are talking about how he will get destroyed by diaz, etc, he ain't at championship level yet, when he is then you can make your predictions

At Amir Khan's age, Juan Diaz was a world champion. And Juan was also a college student at the time, not a former olympian milking his fame to make millions already fighting less than stellar competition.

yes, he beat Lakva Sim for the championship, not amazing IMO. but I'm not knocking Diaz cuz I do like him, I'm just saying that Khan could easily beat Sim even 2 years ago. why is it that he is being knocked for calling out big fights when others are criticized for avoiding them.

Lets keep in mind that his managment is known to protect fighters until they have over blown records, so he is going against the grain and not taking the advise of his managment by taking these risque fights early in his career. I totally respect him for that and still fail to see the problem. if he is still fighting these types of fighters 3 years from now, than I will knock him, but as of now he is doing more than he has to for his age.
