Some people would have us believe it was due to weight drain but that is nonsense.
He got starched twice and had plenty of time to get used to the weight.
wrong. the weight was THE reason why he looked like crap in the first Tarver fight and being his age it didnt help with his reflexes either and he got caught in the second He didnt get fat he gained muscle and in order to lose that WHILE training for a fight means he probably did less strength conditioning and it affected him.

Ruiz caught Roy a few times and he didnt go anywhere.

Nah all of his outcry was from emotion. He never really wanted to leave. And the Lakers never wanted him to leave.

But I'm saying, would it be smart to trade him now so they get somthing for him. But its tough because Kobe is 29, hes not that old, so maybe him and Bynum still have a window to get somthing done.

I think the consensus before he went back down from heavy was that he had a solid chin, but not a great one.

Took some solid shots from Hopkins, Ruiz & Woods among others, went down from a shot from Del Valle, but Roy was supurb at avoiding followups, & never really took the kind of punishment that tends to break down a fighter before the knockout comes.

Also don't recall anyone he fought who was a noted one-punch KO artist.
