Lightweight: Joel Casamayor vs. Jose Armando Santa Cruz, mandatory rematch.
Golden Boy Promotions, who is the exclusive promoter of both fighters, and who agreed on the rematch during the WBC Annual Convention in Manila, did not present a bid. Thompson Boxing withdrew their bid and the closed envelope was returned to them, as they are very concerned to see that their own promoter would not support their fighters.

LOL! That's hilarious. Nobody wants to see Casa fight Santa Cruz again. I guess this means that Casa will fight Katsidis for the WBO strap?

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but maybe GBP paid Thompson Boxing off so that a fight that makes much more money can be made.

casamayor is a boring fighter at lightweight. he clearly lose to santa cruz in their fight. santa cruz has nothing to prove by fighting casamayor again. he should fight a real champion, not casamayor who has judges on his side... katsidis will exact vengeance for santa cruz!
