By Jake Donovan - It sounds crazy to use the term “rebuilding” when describing a 25-year old can’t-miss prospect who just four years ago proudly represented his country in the Olympic games. Yet here’s lightweight Vicente Escobedo, looking to put a little more distance between himself and the past as he creeps up on three years as a pro. [details]

great article, but found some sarcastic remarks, wtf, lol, I too belive Escobedo will be a better fighter because i belive he learned so much from that lose(i thought it was a ko?) before that i never really like how Escobedo fought, but he showed tons of heart in that fight that i became a fan of his, glad to see he's still with Berstein, and i hope to see he improved a lot. The guy has killer speed and combinations as i seen him training on video but when he fights i think he forgets about using his speed and combinations. All he has to do is put it together and he'll be on his way to a title.Comment

I think as long as he's mentally strong he can over come that lose. In the last few years boxing has seen fighters lose only to find there way back to the top, i belive Escobedo can this time reach the top.Comment

I didn't even know Ignacio took over, that alone is news to me.
But yeah, that Jimenez fight was the only Escobedo fight I've ever seen. They had some crazy exchanges, and Daniel just loss didnt he? I think he started to fade in that loss, wich makes you wonder what would have happen if Escobedo had those last 4 rounds. Cause I mean Esco was still landed some heavy shots in that Jimenez fight.Comment

I mean, who the **** has heard of Jeff Lacy or Calvin Brock when Vincente Escobedo is in the game?
He's a prospect who lost before he got to 20 bouts... usually those guys don't become the most mainstream straight away.
Thanks for schooling me though. Much gratitude on my part.Comment
