Of course if they are THAT badly past their prime but even when a fighter loses his superior physical ability he can still find ways to win with experience and skill.

If Mayweather loses his speed will he get knocked out or will he be like Toney and Hopkins and beat them with superior skill and sheer will. Or is his speed the only thing that makes him better than his opposition?

I think Mayweather is the kind of fighter who can still compete at an old age. I doubt he will though because he will probably retire in his mid-30's.

That was an EXCEPTION to the RULE.
99% don't have the physical attributes of the monster that is George Foreman.

Well, Whitaker's not exactly our era is he? If his entire career counts, than it's a no brainer the answer is him. But that stretches back to 1984.

Otherwise, as far as a true modern day fighter, the answer is Roy Jones, but of course the idiots on this forum will vote for Floyd, as they always do on anything.

Out of those options I would say Whitaker but I'm biased and in the minority.
Where's the bias? He clearly has the best resume and beat by far the best competition. Only thing questionable is how he's on the thread in the first place, as he's not really our era.

                I stand utterly corrected....
                He is a legend.
Will you say the same thing when he beats Calzaghe, say that Calzaghe has made his history as a Super Middle and not as a Light Heavy??? So what youre saying is that when he beats Calzaghe it wont matter?

That's what people keep telling me on these forums. So from now on I'll keep typing that I'm biased before someone else calls me that.

Whitaker is one of my favorites. He doesn't belong in this era but he is in the poll so I'll vote for him.

If you think Bore hard will beat Calzaghe you must be on drugs.
A man who loses to taylor , fights a 154 pounder at 170 and a tired old never that special Tarver when he was finished is NOT going to beat a BUSY 1000 punches a fight SKILLED SPEEDSTER BOXER especially by throwing 15 punches a round and the occasional Head-butt.
                      Get a grip man.
