Thanks for breaking out the old reels.

Roy would have knocked out anyone Robinson ever fought, including him.

A prime LHW Roy Jones might be a different story but that's over a 15 pound weight difference. RJJ at LHW wouldn't KO Joey Maxim.

RJJ didn't have Robinson's skill (are you kidding me?) and p4p they had equal power. SRR's power came from his technique, RJJ's from his athleticism, it's a bit different but Robinson's left hook had serious power.

Some people might overrate the old times but lets be serious, I think it might be just you not knowing enough about the old times. I'm sure most of you would have no idea about SRR's opposition except Jake LaMotta. You need to know the era's to rank the fighters correctly.

Robinson fought more hall of famers than ANY other man (except maybe Henry Armstrong). His opposition is unmatched. Do you see RJJ giving Hopkins 5 rematches? He didn't even give ONE.

Whoever said RJJ had more skill is completely wrong. Both had lots of athleticism. When RJJ lost that athleticism, what happened? He got knocked out by Johnson and Tarver.

When Robinson lost that athleticism he still competed with some of the best middleweights of all time and won the world title at age 37 (after almost 200 fights).

So you think Ali would lose to Wladimir Klitschko?
Manchine you are a very wise man and have bceome one of my favourite Posters within a very short time of noticing you.
If I could I would give you more green Karma but I am not allowed.

        Darwinism

Man... old timers are so overrated. Sugar Ray Robinson would get beat by a homeless man in 2008. When did Robinson fight anyway... like 1870? Was he like the first boxer or something? By the way, I think a prime Roy Jones would get KTFO by a garbage man from 2020. That's how fast we're evolving.

If it literally starts in 1990 I would switch my pick from Whitaker to Jones. Whitaker had some of his great wins in the 1980's. I wouldn't vote for Mayweather until he was retired or obviously past his prime.

The consensus among the elite boxers themselves of this era and former, seem to suggest Floyd. I'm talking about Bernard Hopkins, De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Sugar Ray Leonard all agreeing on this issue.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., he is the only fighter still undefeated and is the smartest fighter out of the bunch.
