By Joe Harrison - Now that 2007 has come to an end, it will likely be remembered as the year of redemption for the sport of professional boxing. Names such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao, and Kelly Pavlik helped keep boxing alive with their superb skills and exciting battles. It appears that 2008 is looking to be another big year for the sweet science as it continues its climb back into the spotlight. As boxing continues to redeem itself from the past few years of mediocrity, there are others looking toward redemption as well. Two of these individuals are heavyweight boxers from Chicago, Andrew Golota and Mike Mollo, who will face each other on the undercard of the Jones/Trinidad Pay-per-view on January 19th at Madison Square Garden in New York. redeemable?
Like a long outdated McDonalds coupon....Andrew Golota is way past redemption!
too many missed opportunities,
second chances, and huge dissapointments!
If Ray Mercer is the best heavyweight to get the least recognition Golota is the worst hw to get the most recognition!
I now officially hate his guts!
I would only watch him fight now in the hopes of once again seeing that glass eyed "what the f##ck was that.." stare that he showed after the lennox lewis right hand relieved him of his last 3 brain cells.
He is now down to breathing and bowel movements!
quit already!Comment

marshmallow?
And as for Mike (the marshmallow) Mollow
the only time he ever even took a baby step up to Williamson?
TKO in the 4th! He's a bum! Pleeeze don't think that a Golota win over him means ANYTHING!Comment

Dude, take a deep breath. Golata is definitely the biggest waste of talent that I've seen in the last 20 years. He was kicking Rid**** Bowe's ass (a talented champion) and went mental. There is no ""New" Andrew Golata, just the same wasted talent of a head case.Like a long outdated McDonalds coupon....Andrew Golota is way past redemption!

I agree with your assessment. If Golata doesn't fold early and can get to later rounds there is no way Mollo is in the same league.Comment

As long as Golota can still throw his trademark "Lo Blo Combo" punches he may be able to slow the other guy down.
Why is he even getting in the ring again though? Must just be money. I dont think hes trying to secure a legacy of any kind.Comment
