He's a helluva fighter and has alot of skills.

If he had some footspeed he would do some damage to Mayweather. But he wouldn't be able to find the gap.

Helluva fighter at 135 though. If he fights a big name at 140, a fight with Haton would be huge. I figure he'll stay at 135 though. He makes it easy. He could probably make 130, he is a little pudgy.

Im a boxing junkie and thats why Im a huge Floyd & Paulie fan. I saw Floyd from like his 3rd pro fight and he was instantly my favorite fighter. Im not new to him like alot of people. I was bragging on him when everyone in my hood would only talk about guys like Tito & Mosley so thats why I rep him hard now because I was with Floyd from the jump. Its the same thing with Paulie. Everyone on here hated him and called him a club fighter while I was making big time threads on him before anyone knew him or liked him and now everyone knows him and atleast respects him somewhat.

I said that stuff above to let you know Ive seen alot of guys from there early stages. I saw Diaz and I saw his fight with Hernandez and Im telling you he lost the fight. Its the same fight that mrpain81 was talking about that he started crying after it. The 1st thing that came to my mind was Bojado. I thought he was going to be just like Bojado and not amount to crap and the crying made me sick. Im not wrong on these things that often but the kid turned out to be a monster. Seriously though, he lost that fight and thats why he was crying. The judge that had him losing was right but you saw where the fight was at? It was in his hometown and he got a gift. His whole team looked dissapointed and it looked like they realized he wasnt going to be as good as they thought he could be. They also looked like they wanted to tell him to stop crying like a ***** but its all good. He was so young. He was like a baby at the time. He was only 17 so I cut him a break but he seemed like such a young immature kid that wasnt ready for this game. He knew he lost but he's grown up now. Dont let the records fool you. When your 17 and fighting a vet then you can definatly lose to a guy like that. Hernandez was better then his record like Augustus is

Gotcha... thanks for the info bro.

Did he fight the same way back then as he does now?

13 punch combinations flowing like water every round?

The opening post was questioning the specifics of that bout that DLT feels he lost.

He was giving him props for realizing a ton of potential that no one thought was there I think.

Ronnie Shields got him to throw less punchs. I remember watching him very early in his career on espn proably his 5 th fight. Diaz throws the kitchen sink in every round and dominating then in the corner you hear Ronnie Shields tell Juan Diaz to not throw so many punchs, to "settle down." Diaz is one hell of a punching machine, they say Henry Armstrong never stopped punching, in that regard we have Juan Diaz and imagine that Armstrong had power, must have been great to see Armstrong fight.

If you think Paulie is on Hatton's level, you know zero about the sport.

                Hatton has more skills.

                Beleed dat!

whats not to understand? I was answering your question about what happened in that fight. He really lost it but the judges gave it to him in Texas but him and his whole team knew they lost. You could see it on there faces and none of them celebrated while Hernandez team just shook there head like they already knew what was coming. Thats why Diaz started crying. It was also his 1st tough fight as he killed the others so he didnt know how to handle it. Infact if I can remember right, he was even about to cry between rounds and kept asking his corner was he winning but you could tell he was asking because he knew that he wasnt.

My other point was that he was just young at the time and it couldve basically happened to anyone at that age against a vet and he's turned himself into a legit P4P beast. I never thought he would turn out that well but he did.

I think if you saw Diaz early you knew he was special but you didnt' think he could do it against the top fighters, thats actually how i felt about Hatton when i first saw him fight on Showtime.
