The same could be said about Buster Douglas or a hundred other fighters. So what? The fact is he's not the greatest ever, he's not the greatest of his era, he's not even the greatest ****-talking black fighter from Michigan of his era.

Roy Jones has the most good wins on his resume of any fighter of the last 15 years, including prime Toney and Hopkins.

Mayweather has acconplished only about 2/3 as much, and never beaten any world-class, top five p4p fighter.

There is a much higher concentration of talent from 130-154, no question. If I put on 20lbs and trained for a year, I could probably win a cruiserweight belt.

On a separate note, how the hell does Jones have a better resume than Floyd?
thats prolly the biggest bull**** post ive read on this forum so far

Roy Jones & Floyd Mayweather Jr. are 2 completely different fighters let's get that understood from "jump-street". Roy is a great fighter no doubt, but he spent a lot of his career showcasing his skills fighter journeyman, police officers, & part-time cab drivers (wins over Hall-of-famers Toney & Hopkins say otherwise). The only thing Roy has on floyd is (slightly) better natural athletic skills & power. Floyd is a much better technical fighter then Roy, Jones always relied on his reflexes! that's why when they dimished slighty his hand low or behind the back routine didn't work anymore & he started getting "caught", & b-4 then i've never seen Roy Jones hit cleanly let alone tested. Because of Floyd's supreme disclipline for technique & training, i can't see him suffering the same fate as roy jones (maybe getting outhusled or knocked down later in his career, but never ktfo!) I've seen floyd take some good shots & dig down deep to pull it out (corley, judah, castillo) After the scare in the Castillo fights Floyd fought suspect opponents as well until Judah (02-06). So i'm just calling it like i see it... Roy didn't lose until he was 35 (49-1) Floyd is only 30yrs old (39-0 imo with better opposition as well). Roy Jones got ktfo in consecutive fights (not a good look, for "superman") His pride & ego continues to be the fuel that is leading him on to fight (which may lead to serious injury if he fights the wrong opponent), he should have just retired after taking a portion of the heavyweight crown after besting Ruiz....In short Floyd Mayweather Jr is the best of this era period!

Roy jones beat Hopkins, Toney. Nuff said. Already outclassed Floyd. IMO out classed Holyfield. Lewis I might rate higher.

Unless you're referring to my hyperbolic claim that I could win a cruiser title, what exactly is b.s.? If you disagree that there is more talent between 130-154lbs than 160-Heavyweight, then you just don't know this game.
