  • Hopkins, Calzaghe Raise Tensions in Vegas

Most expected this to happen, and it sure did. Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe, clashed verbally throughout the day on Friday in Las Vegas. Observers would crowd around them and watch closely, anticipating one of them to begin throwing punches. The two would run into each other about an hour before the Floyd Mayweather Jr-Ricky Hatton weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. They would trade words for about two-minutes before being pulled apart. During the actual weigh-in for Mayweather-Hatton, the two would begin trading words again as the pro-UK crowd would begin loud chants against Hopkins. The two fighters promised to fight on American soil in 2008. [details]

      Calzaghe kicks Hopkins ass

Say what you want to say, Hopkins did'nt scare anyone. I could'nt give a **** what he does outside the ring but once he is in it, Calzaghe will make him pay.

      Bye Hopkins.

There's still no guarantee the fight will happen.

              The fans were class:

"Knock him out, Knock him out, Knock him out"

Funny how everyone seems to have written B-hop off on this one. Joe looked really good against Kessler but lets not get ****** here, B-hop is no Kessler.

To be honest, I find Hopkins is gifted in the sense that he got a different style with a different strategy for each opponent. I had been told Calzaghe is more or less the same. But after watching Hopkins beate down Trinidad and De La Hoya, I got my reserves for this fight if it ever happens. Hopkins has surprised me way too many times.

                    True. Kessler TKO8 Hopkins.

At least it's finally clear that Hopkins wants the fight. It'll be done.
