Hopkins is a class apart from Calzaghe for beating Tito and Oscar?

"Bernard does not see any reason why he should travel to Calzaghe's back yard," Richardson added. "He is the great fighter and he has earned the right over the years to make his choice. Calzaghe is a good fighter but there is a big difference between the two of them. Everyone built up Kessler but who had he really beaten? Where are the living legends on Calzaghe's record? The mark of an all-time great fighter is the fights he has had against other living legends. Bernard has fought Jones and beaten Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya. He is a class apart."
How exactly is Hopkins a class apart for beating a Middleweight De La Hoya? Last I checked Oscar struggled with Felix Sturm, who is a B class Middleweight. The Trinidad win is a good win, but it's not a great win.

These are blown up Welterweights. Why is Hopkins considered special for beating them just because they were Hall of Famers in lower weight classes? At least Kessler was an established Super Middleweight.

could'nt agree more, Joe the slapper might be a great fighter, but he has yet to really prove it and until he does he will be an also ran, as a Fellow Englishman I would like to see him mop up in the states but I can't see it happening

i think b-hop and joe are in the same class as far as being elite. i think they're both absolutely great fighters. u cant say joe woul outclass b-hop and vice versa. they're both phenomenal at everything they do. on a scale of 1-10, if b-hop is a 9, joe is a 9...

Imagine what Kelly Pavlik would have done to DLH and Tito. But Hopkins will be exposed soon...

Both are elite fighters, but hopkins having the better resume. No one knew who kessler was a year or two ago, jeff lacy the other big name.

As for the "blown up welterweights" argument, it's played out and one that was already debunked quite a few times on this site

By "no one", you mean Americans, right?

Chris Eubank and (not shot) Robin Reid weren't exactly powder puffs, either.
