Shane Mosley: In a Class All His Own

By TK Stewart - When Shane Mosley is in the room, this racket they call the fight game suddenly doesn’t seem like what Jimmy Cannon called, “the red light district of sports.” You see, “Sugar” Shane Mosley is that kind of a person, and this game that sometimes reeks like a sewer, somehow smells much sweeter when he’s around. I'd like to see him keep fighting too.

I think he showed us enough on Sat night to suggest he can still be a force at welterweight.

I think he beats Cintron dunno about the rest though.

Shane Mosley is a class act and the kind of fighter that boxing needs more of. He fights hard and remains humble no matter how much praise or criticism he receives. A spot in the HOF is well deserved for this guy.

He needs to throw his jab harder and not from his waist. Less pawing. The right should come more often straight, instead of roundhouse.
More head movement and a left hand as defense would sometimes be good.
Also he should stop dropping his hands after throwing.
I had the feeling he didn't do enough sparring with the emphasis on defense and reflexes.
            Just my opinion

The author of this article,is absolutely masterful in his presentation of a subject matter which extends itself beyond mere gloves. You have brought me to think that in the time that I have been alive I have never come across a more drawing, humble, gentle yet equally dangerous fighter such a Shane. Forget about the parallel of a merely a fighter but his being , Shane is just such a loveable being. TK Stewart I am most impressed by your analysis and points of reflection keep up the great work, a lot of us here at boxingscene are enjoying your work.

i'd be happy to see shane go ahead and move on with his career into training and promoting. if he wanted to go out on a win i say take a farewell fight against a small fish for the entertainment value of it. i'd watch him KO a bum for old times sake.

I don't know how you couldn't like him. He was so classy after the fight. Didn't complain at all like a lot of fighters would have. It was a really close fight and the fact that at his age he can go in the ring and compete at the highest level against fighters who are nearly a decade younger than him is amazing.

I think he should retire and work with his son and carry on the Mosely tradition. What a great last performance for a future HOF.....
