And Hopkins should run away from him.
There is no doubt that Calzaghe is an ATG. He could retire right now and his place in boxing history is now certified.

As to p4p, I placed him number two in my personal list posted two days ago.

Yeah I agree with that. People always get overhyped after watching a fight. But I feel we just saw Calzaghe outbox a great fighter.

Calzaghe has beaten Eubank, Lacy and Kessler. These are the only real names that are gonna stick out on his resume. The rest are just succesful title defences against good fighters.

He really needs to fight a great fighter like Hopkins now.

for joe, theres nothing he can accomplish now that will give him the honor of being put next to names like ali, louis, robinson, etc. for joe, its too little, too late for that.
How about beating Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather?

Being as fair as I can be as a biased Zag fan. I'd put him top 25 ATG's p4p.

Because Calzaghe said he wanted it and Mayweather is considered one of the greatest of all time (if he comes through the Hatton fight).

Surely if he beat both those guys he'd be an all time great. If not, why not?

i do not believe for one second that a calzaghe/mayweather fight was ever considered. thats like suggesting wlad fight jermain taylor. the sheer thought of it is just preposterous.

even if he beats hopkins (who would be the only "legend" on his resume), theres nothing he can do to be an ATG, at least not in the p4p lists.

Calzaghe said it. Mayweather is the name in lights and probably the only current AMerican boxer known generally in Britain, of course it is has been considered and why not?

if Calzaghe can consider it, why can't you?
