  • Calzaghe says he has the chin and gears

I've had my chin proven from hard punches from Eubank, Robin Reid, Charles Brewer, Byron Mitchell, (and) Jeff Lacy.

As far as I'm concerned I punch harder than Kessler does anyway. I've knocked 30 men spark out and putting Chris Eubank down is a whole lot different than putting Markus Beyer down.
Whenever a genuine threat is put in front of me I raise my game - Eubank, Sheika, Veit, Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy. We all saw the results.

I know if I'm not at my best on November 3rd I will lose. That gets me excited.

I didn't respect Bika or Manfredo and they were poor performances. I respect Kessler like I respected Lacy. If I repeat that Lacy performance then nobody can touch me, I've won.
Ask Jeff Lacy if I'm just a slapper. Most of the shots I hit him with were slaps but when I would set down on a couple of shots of a barrage they yanked his neck and shifted him about.

That's what I do. I mix it up. Nobody is more glad than me that Kessler thinks I can't punch!
    Good......

Sounds like is desperate to convince people that his resume is not padded , which it is !!

Brewer was TKOed by a middle right before Cal fought him , retired not long after Cal and stopped his last 2 .

Mitchell , was beaten by Ottke right before Cal , and he was beaten by Siacca right before that , Cal was Mitchells retiring fight .

Eubanks was out of retirement , commentators of the fight was saying Eubanks should not be fighting and was a shadow of his best , Eubanks said himself he took the fight on short notice and he could beat Joe if he had more time , also said he dont punch hard .

It just goes on and on right through his career ,,,,, JCal is a very good fighter but he is not this PFP monster people think he is ,, the bottom line is he has been fed contender status fighters his whole career ,,, Kessler is really the best in his prime fighter Joe has met .

This has certainly been a while in the making! This is a hard fight to pick as both are undefeated and have been whuping ass in SMW division. Calzaghe took Lacey to school and Kessler has been flatening all his oponents also! If I had to pick it would be Calzaghe who's fighting on is home patch with 60,000 screaming Welshmen behind him. Kessler is a heck of a fighter who'll lose a split decision to Calzaghe.

Nigel benn and Chris Eubank both agreed that he would have beaten them both at thier bests. It was on a documentary, maybe someone knows which one I mean, I cant remember then name of it.

does't seem to be padding his resume to me. more like he is responding the kessler's thoughts on that joe has less power. he also mentioned he has a chin to say that kessler's power won't hurt him. you need to read and understand why people are saying things. it's a reply to kessler all in all.

resume is not what every boxer can control. it is up to their promoters aswell. no doubt joe is a fantastic fighter. there are rumours other fighters have priced themselves out agaisnt joe. he isn't fmaous enough in the states to get ppv etc... so i suppose it is not wrong to ask for a big pay day if you're american. especially since joe has the ability to beat you. now that joe is getting more recognised the big names do wanna fight him. although he is quite old now at 35 so i don't know if he can fight for much longer.

btw all my points that joe will beat kessler? take my bet?

Tough fight to call but I'm leaning more towards Joe Calzaghe. More experience, better hand speed, home court advantage (not sure how being booed out of the arena will effect Kessler, if at all that is), more at stake in terms of legacy, etc...

Calzaghes record is no more padded than Bernard Hopkins.
