By Brent Matteo Alderson - This coming Saturday, Marco Antonio Barrera will finally have a chance to reverse one of his most devastating defeats. I always viewed the rematch as a dream fight, but surprisingly the boxing community seems to have written off Barrera for a number of reasons. First of all Marco has showed significant signs of deterioration. He was lucky to have escaped with the decision in the first fight against Rocky Juarez and he clearly lost to Juan Manuel Marquez in his last fight. Plus it’s obvious that Barrera has lost that youthful aggression. [details]

Hmmm... I guess the second Juarez fight didn't erase those questions?By Brent Matteo Alderson - This coming Saturday, Marco Antonio Barrera will finally have a chance to reverse one of his most devastating defeats. I didn't see Marquez clearly beat Barrera either.
This article is a bit too subjective. -
winning at least 8 rounds isnt clearly winning?.....and no, the second barrera juarez fight didnt erase anything.....awful boxing from barrera, such hideous out of range arm punches.....if manny loses this fight he truly should retire...barrera is made for him....Comment

Man, I'm really beginning to think Barrera said some **** about your family... you really have some beef with him.
I thought about this the other day. You scored Morales-Barrera I for Morales.
Yet Morales went to Barrera's dressing room and told him he should have won that fight.
Not calling you out, I just think you must really hate the way Barrera fights or something.Comment

erik said he gave barrera a medal cause he was ALSO a winner for giving him such a great fight.....and morales is too confident and proud to admit he lost......Barrera is a liar, and he lied another time when he said morales wanted him for the 3rd fight because he thought marco was shot.....erik didnt want to fight barrera because he thought he won the first 2 but it was a lot of money so finally he accepted...if you see my posts you must know i love barrera's style...but i have a problem with people thinking he is this masterful out-boxer when his one great boxing performance is never mentioned and that is the fight he got robbed in the rematch against junior jones.......since, barrera has only looked good boxing facing elite comp against the inactive counterpuncher with no techinque to put pressure, naseem hamed.....Man, I'm really beginning to think Barrera said some **** about your family... you really have some beef with him.

It thought Barrera took it, 114-113.
Same way Lawrence Clay-Bey said he ****** ass when he beat Mike Williams.
Marquez thought he won the Freddy Norwood fight, but took responsibility for losing in the judges eyes.Comment

you must really like barrera......cool, he's a great fighter....
marquez 117-111Comment

Haha, I couldn't give less of a **** about those two. It was a good fight. I guess it could be because I judge rounds on feel... as in I try to evaluate how hard each shot is, and keep a sort of scoring system in my head of who is ahead in each round. I don't judge rounds on punch count... I think that is a terrible way to judge.
But, then again, I don't know how you judge, so it's hard to say why we are so far apart.
On the real though, HBO team and Lederman all had the fight pretty damn close... not a 6 point win for Marquez.Comment
