  • Jermain Taylor Plans To Slug With Pavlik

SCOTRUN, Pennsylvania - With just a little over 3 weeks remaining World Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor has been enjoying the peace and quiet he's finding in the mountains of Pennsylvania, where he's training for his September 29th title defense against Kelly Pavlik at Borardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. But what has Taylor (27-0-1, 17 KO's) most excited is the prospect of a slugfest with hard-hitting Kelly Pavlik. Taylor relishes the opportunity to swap power shots with the top-ranked contender in his showdown. The bout which is being billed as "Throwback" is being promoted by DiBella Entertainment, in association with Top Rank Inc. [details]

Taylor isnt gonna have a choice after a few rounds, may as well say he said he wass gonna do it.

Its still a winnable fight there. HIs sharp crisp shots will be effective inside.

This is gonna be an amazing fight

How can you NOT believe this one? people are turned away by this because of Floyd Mayweather.

But this isn't a PPV fight, Taylor doesnt have to sell anything...

And hes done plenty of times before, so he's definetly gonna do it this time. He doesnt even have a choice, Pavliks style is gonna force him to.

I hope taylor stands there and gets smashed up by pavlik who deserves the title and is real humble. But it would be ****** for taylor to trade because he hits not as hard and proberly doesnt have a chin to take it for to long, i personally think he'll box pavlik come the 29th.

ok, i'm buying the fight now. pavlik has a better blow, but taylor has a much better chin IMHO (and has had it tested for many more rounds than pavlik). but im buyin now, that much fo certain.

I think Taylor’s statement about wanting to “slug it out with Pavlik” is part ‘hype’ and part, him wanting to show he’s just as tough as Pavlik and the best current middleweight in the world. Taylor seems to be genuinely pumped up for this fight because Pavlik’s such a dangerous opponent. This really should be a great fight!...

if people say they're going to slug, 9/10 they'll slug. look at quarry versus frazier and beyond. if they say it, they'll do it. especially people like taylor.
