Roach Expects Rey Bautista To Become Better

Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach says he expects Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista to be “a better fighter” following his shocking first round knockout at the hands of the menacing WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon in the Philippine-Mexico World Cup in Sacramento, California last August 11.

He will be a good fighter, but not a great fighter. You can't teach a great chin.

The sign of a true champion is how you come back from defeat, hope he does well.

You can teach someone to have great defense if they don't have a chin. How many times has Mayweather's chin been tested? Pretty much never.

But, I'm not sure if his chin is worse than his defense. This dude actually sucks quite a bit in my opinion. I thought he looked awful against Sergio Manuel Medina, and obviously no one thinks he looked good against Ponce De Leon. Power with no other skills is not a good formula for a good boxer.
