No, that's not a real workout. And nothing that would prepare him for the fight. There are big fatasses that can play pickup games all day long.

There are also big fat@sses that fight for world boxing championships in the past and present. Pickup games depending on the the people playing can be played w/ great intensity and can be a great diversion from one's normal routine. Have you heard of "Cross-Training"? PACquiao when he trained in Los Angeles would play pick up games as well. The guy has a love for B-Ball , this is old news.

There are days that you just don't feel like going through a boxing workout, whether one's a novice, competitive amateur or a pro boxer. If your mind and body just isn't there, it does more damage than good. instead of just sitting around, atleast PAC is being active and getting a sweat going.

Playing basketball is a definite workout, but i doubt it's appropriate for preparing for a prizefight. Pacquiao is risking an ankle injury or something more than he's getting a good workout in.

Yeah but I don't think anywhere near the caliber of the workout he'd get in the gym shooting hoops. Manny doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who's crossing anyone over, or taking it to the rack so I wouldn't worry about his health.
