Pinoy Boxers Being Mismatched in Aussie Bouts

Filipino boxers fighting out of Sydney, Australia continue to get slaughtered in horrendous mismatches in Australia prompting Filipinos residing in Australia to appeal to us to inform the Games and Amusements Board about what is going on.

there's an element of truth in this but then again alot of the time it's not as drastic as people are making out. i mean dulog is an awkward guy and i can promise guys like geronco arent going in there to lose. they move to australia to take these fights.. they know they are going to be matched with our up and comers and sometimes they'll be robbed but **** no one makes them.

Seriously, if it sucks, then don't take the fight. These guys likely need the money, which means that their boxing career is secondary to them. If that is the case, then the article is crying over spilt milk, because as long as they are getting paid, then mission accomplished for them. It's no different than some of the Americans who get slaughtered by up and comers. Hopkins was 11-1 with 9 knockouts when he kicked Danny Mitchell to the curb. Mitchell was 7-16 with a few consecutive losses coming in, but no one wrote a sob story about that. Rookie prospects need these kind of fights so they can kick ass and brush up on whatever they are doing wrong with no fear of losing.

from the perspective of somebody in the philippines:

there's a big issue right now in philippines boxing of ****ing greedy promoters who send undertrained fighters to fight in other copuntries illegally without permits etcetera i believe the writer is just using what he has to expose this **** so that the government might do something about this which sadky it has not done yet. these articles will only stop when these machinations stop.

That actually really does suck. This is going to sound like I'm a total **** but, boxers do recognize the risk of stepping into the ring. And to be totally honest, these fighters who are being shipped out probably really do need the money. It's a calculated risk that these men from the Phillipines take when doing these sort of things. On the other hand, I think it is ****ty that promoters are sending these guys to get slaughtered... you wonder how much experience the prospects even get from fighting people with little training. Something does need to be done to ensure a happy medium on an issue like this.

the government need to be the parens patriae of these boxers. letting them go there is a big mistake. these boxers do not understand the dangers of fighting much stronger with the poverty situation like you said money is the foremost that's why the government should use their police power to stop this nonsense and instead provide better job oppurtunities for these boxers
