Roach Says Best Fight For Pacquiao is Barrera

In the midst of a swirl of speculations regarding the possible resolution of the bitter conflict between Golden Boy Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank in the mediation talks presided over by retired judge Dan Weinstein, trainer Freddie Roach believes the best fight for Manny Pacquiao would be a rematch against Marco Antonio Barrera. This is a good fight for Pac cuz he will be the heavy favorite on this one. He dominated Barrera in 2003. Barrera is now older, slower, and more war damaged. But if Barrera fight like the way he did against Juarez in their rematch, then MAB can win by UD. This might be MAB's last fight, so we might see a version of MAB the way he fought JMM.

As a boxing fan, i'd rather see Pac vs JMM rematch, or Pac against Soto, Valero, or Guzman.

a fight with barrera would be a bigger fight and a bigger payday. but barrera IS on the down side of his career and manny did dispatch him fairly easily but you can never count out barerra.

the only thing is as far as i'm concerned the bigger FIGHT is with Soto. just for the fact that Soto is tough and game and has a lot of momentum going into a fight with pacquiao. i think Soto is deserving and is a tough tough competitor.

but whatever, both fights will be exciting fights.

it's more of a money thing with the barrera fight for all involved, the fight with Soto is just a good damn fight for us fans....................

this fight would be the biggest featherweight fight in history money wise and it will help boxing big time, if pacman happens to beat barrera then it will set up an even BIGGER fight to build up against marquez.

but the problem is marquez will be fighting Soto so that is a very dangerous fight for jmm.

That's probably why Roach says its the best fight because it's going to bring the most dollars. I think Pac would win again and maybe in the same fashion as the first fight, but since it could be Barrera's last fight you never know what might happen. I would want to see Pac fight the likes of Marquez, Soto, or Guzman instead, but I guess you gotta get that change when it's there.

dangerous or not JMM will still take the fight. I remember seeing him get cut(can't remember what fight, come on bruthas help me out), the ref telling him he is ahead on the score cards but still opted to fight. True warrior.

Last year against Jimrex Jaca. The commentators said Jaca was fighting like Pac, with straight lefts(but not successful). On this fight, i believed Golden Boy had a trainer for Jaca, instead of Jaca going to Roach. Golden Boy preparing JMM for Pac. But u knew what happen, Pac followed who offered the biggest money.
