  • Corrie Sanders Injures Hand, 6/23 Bout Off

This past weekend, former WBO heavyweight champ Corrie Sanders, 41, suffered a bad hand injury during the second win of his comeback. Sanders badly hurt his left hand in the first round of a ten-round contest held last weekend against Brazilian Daniel Bispo at the Emperors Palace in South Africa. He was forced to go the distance, winning every round on the judges scorecards with 100-90 verdicts across the board. [details]

sanders is broke? thats surprising,,,,I would have thought he'd have pocketed a descent amount of cash in his fights with wlad and vit. he seems like he has a good enough head on his shoulders to have invested or hung onto it unlike tyson and a few other morons that have no conception of money

I was alittle surprised at Sanders' trainer's frankness about his fighters financial situation; I guess there's no sugar coating it. "Sanders is broke and needs to fight."

Hey, I wish the guy all the luck...

Bump. Anyone here see this fight? Sanders, I guess, fought with a broken hand for most of the fight and still managed to dominate his opponent and the scorecards.

Sanders always had a lot of heart. I wish him the best in future fights and in his life. A rematch with Wlad would be a way to solve his financial problems.

I think that Sanders can have an impact on the division if he stays in shape and gets some good wins under his belt. And I think that Wlad would love to avenge this embarrassing loss sometime in the future. However, I also think that Sanders should have to rightfully earn a title shot like everyone else..
