I doubt that. Floyd knows what he's up against now, there is no point for him to be as cautious as he was this go around. Next time I expect Floyd to UD or maybe a late stoppage.Comment

I really doubt Floyd could knock out Oscar.
Oscar was in the best shape we have seen him in probably since 1998 but he still hadnt fought consistantly in years
I know what you mean though, Floyd could just come out and out box Oscar in a rematch but also Oscar knows what to expect now toComment

First off, Freddie Roach is the man, although some argue that the fighters he trains were nice before he got there (Pacquiao, Toney, and in this case, definitely Oscar).
But yeah, there's no way Floyd could knock out De La Hoya, or even stop him. This was something that Floyd and his corner were more than aware of during the fight. That's why Floyd never stood toe-to-toe with Oscar and even attempted to throw a flurry (other than the last 10 seconds of the fight).
You got to consider that although both fighters came in at the super welterweight limit (PBF at 150, DLH at 154), Oscar was probably 165-170 on fight night, while Floyd dropped down to 148. That's a pretty considerable weight difference, and given Oscar's iron chin, if those kind of numbers were to remain in the rematch, (which they probably would), I don't see Floyd doing any damage to Oscar.Last edited by BodyHead Banger; 05-07-2007, 11:34 PM.Comment

Floyd wasn't at 154. He was at 148.I think the exact opposite. I think Oscar was in his best shape ever and fought as hard as he could. Floyd seemed like he cruised the whole fight. Oscar tried so hard and pressed the action while Floyd basically just stood there and took what Oscar gave him. In a rematch Floyd would kill him. I think part of Floyd's problem was that he was worried. I think for the 1st time he was worried about how his body would respond, was 154 too much for him, would he still be fast, would he have any power, would Oscar's power really hurt him. I think he found out that it was much easier then he thought it would be and he would be 10x more aggressive next fight and have no worries of OscarComment

Not ever...he was winded after round 8...but good for his age thats for sure. He's still got some golden left in him.I think the exact opposite.
