Tua Turns Down Lamon Brewster Bout

The returning Lamon Brewster, a former WBO heavyweight champ, is making it very clear that he is ready to take on all comers. Currently making moves to return to the ring after recuperating from an eye injury, Brewster is certainly not avoiding a single fighter at his weight. [details]

It seems Tua does'nt want to fight anyone note worthy to get back on top and possibly get a title shot.

im just gonna laugh at tua, he is an embarrassment to himself whether he wants to admit it or not.... all he is doing is fooling people with an outdated product... how many lies can the guy throw into a single paragraph?

      tua is a bum (nowadays)

of course he avoided brewster when hes afraid of shane cameron, i wish tua would retire cause im tired of him getting televised bouts when there are actually fighters who are serious about their training and dedication who cant get a crack

tua is a step below mesi and on par with tommy morrison as far as deserving to be taken seriously

Tua's been done for a long while and like Rae said this just proves he is really not interested in fighting any longer.

David may think he is not ready for this fight but he has refused to get himself in the proper fighting shape for nearly a decade now, David if your not ready now you will never be ready.

Watched the ESPN Classic of Tua and Ike last week, one of my all time favorite fights, Tua does things in that fight that he never ever did again (tripling up on a left hook)...his activity was very good for him and he could have been given that decision thats how close the fight was. He was a very good fighter for a couple years and a fighter who never appeared to be the same after facing Ibeabuchi.

Im going to have to start calling him daffy,,,with all the ducking he's been doing. thats a shame becuase him and brewster could have been a good one. daffy will continue to fight the griffiths and hawkins of the world that he can still barely get by

Why is Tua still a pro boxer, hes supposedly on a comeback and fight like once year. I hope to see Brewster fight someone worthy soon and if Klitschko cant get a unification bout that would be a good fight...

Tua obviously sees boxing as a job now, nothing more. He fights every now and then against a guy who couldn't possibly hurt him for the pay day. He clearly is not interested in a major fight, and I really don't have a problem with that. Whatever works for him.

People need Tua's name.... and he won't give it. I think he's doing some cover-ups of his rustiness. He looked horrible in his last fight.

But hey. Maybe he's not ready for Lamon at the moment.

Poppa, this is old news but I'll comment just the same. Tua has really been a dissappointment as of late because of the shear fact that he hasn't fought anyone who really has challenged him. Frankly, I'm sick of seeing Tua fight these journeyman who are only in there to make him look good and pose no real threat.

I believe that sometimes fighting a good opponent brings the best out in a fighter. Point, I think Tua needs to fight someone who's in there to win and poses a dangerous threat. Infact, Tua should sign up to fight Hasim Rahman in June!
