I wish I still had my version because it was a high quality full video, but I will not complain. Somebody was nice enough to upload the video on Youtube.
Not the full fight.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 02-26-2007, 01:35 PM. -
Thanks for posting that - just the right length for a quick break!
Opinion? Not sure what you're looking for, but seemed to me like Forrest was outclassed. Tszyu hit him at will and seemed to be dramatically quicker both in terms of striking and evading. Forrest got in some decent heavyish punches but for an amateur fight I think he got clobbered.Comment

Yes, Tszyu was much better then. He didn't fight like you expect a "Soviet" fighter would fight like. I wish I can find the whole fight, it is better in its entirety. Tszyu was also very good in his younger Pro career: he was aggressive, still had the elusive ability, punched in bunches, had good hand speed, and had great stamina. He seemed to go to the "Soviet/European" style later on, not sure what happened; maybe age.
I am going to have to read his book(s) to get some more info.Comment

Tszyu outclassed Forrest. I didn't like the way Kostya had his chin in the air the whole time, but it didn't seem to matter, nothing Forrest threw could hurt him!Comment

There is a common misconception abour soviet school of boxing. Soviet boxing was very diverse and every region was practicing their won style of boxing. Funny thing is that Tszyu is from Syberia but is practicing what is more southeastern style of boxing. He was especially big on it in his pro career.Yes, Tszyu was much better then.
