Lampley gets probation
HBO's Jim Lampley was sentenced to three months probation and community service after pleading no contest to violating a restraining order. After mulling over it for six weeks, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office decided only to file the misdemeanor charge of violating a temporary restraining order against Lampley, who was originally arrested for dissuading a witness and su****ion of domestic violence, in addition to the restraining order violation. He was booked in January when despite the restraining order he showed up at the Encinitas apartment of his fiance, 29-year-old Miss California USA 2003 Candice Sanders, while authorities were present. Sanders claimed the 57-year-old Lampley pushed her to the floor in a New York City restaurant late last year, then pushed her against a wall on New Year's Eve. Lampley, who steadfastly maintained his innocence on the physical abuse claims.
