Im the biggest Floyd fan there is but he's full of **** on this retirment. I think he's just one of those guys who doesnt want to be a old fighter and already had it in his mind to retire at 30. Thats what its about.
There is no way in hell that he will retire if he loses to Oscar. People hate him so much that no one would give him any kind of benefit by saying that Oscar was too big. They will call him a overrated bum that was due for a ass kicking. No way he retires on that when he can fight a ton of top guys at 147 and alot of them will fight him if they see him lose to Oscar.
If he wins then he has too much of a ego and is too money hungery to let those big fights go away. I could see if he had no one left to fight except for a bunch of big guys like Winky or something but he has a ton of guys like Cotto, Hatton, and so on that he knows he can beat and will be huge fights. No way he lets those fights go and no way he even takes off a year.
He's fighting Mosley for the title later on this year at 147 after Shane beats Cintron or someone
I'll bet 50k that MAYWEATHER fights ON AFTER DE LA HOYA!!!!

It could be beneficial, but Mayweather loves to hang out with the "in crowd", rap stars and whatnot. If he doesn't keep up his training while he's absent from the sport, it could seriously hurt him. It's only a slight possibility though, as Mayweather trains as fierce as Hopkins does/did. But it's still a possibility nontheless.Leave a comment:

the guys a gym rat, he'll come back basically the same fighter if he takes a year off. But with more hunger, so maybe its beinificialLeave a comment:

If Mayweather does indeed, take a year off in order to facilitate the bull**** that he's retiring, when he come sback he will not be what he is now. He will still be a good fighter but I doubt he'll be great. A year off with his lifestyle is not good for a fighter.Leave a comment:

Any Takers???
I think he'll take a year off, claiming to be retired (and he may be completely serious about it for a while)
But then that hunger will come back, and he'll be begging for fights the next year.
And he'll probably regret taking a year off during his prime, So he may see that ahead of time and not even bother.
and takers?Tags: None
