Given his age and the way he fights...I think he will remain more suspect than prospect.

That fight last night almost put me to sleep.

For all the boxing fans who didn't see this fight(including me), can someone here give us an analysis or breakdown of this fight? i.e. Was it entertaining? Should hw fans be excited about Thompson? etc. Thanks.

Thompson controlled it all the way. Jabs and straight lefts. Ibragimov was thrown off by his southpaw style and landed only one significant punch. Thompson forgot his boxing shoes and had to borrow a cool pair of Nike's from a guy in the audience. That seemed to be the main story in an otherwise boring bout.

This will now put an end to the overhyped nonsense some people were spewing about this guy. Thompson looks to be gaining some reasonable victories.

early rounds (1-3) both fighters seem very cautious, but ibragimov looks decent early as he is throwing the straight right quite a bit and even the occasional combo.... certainly the judges that gave him 2 rounds, gave him 2 of these 3 rounds... and the judge that gave timur one round, probably gave him the 2nd round..... thompson mostly feeling out..

middle rounds (4-8) thompsons jab just slowly breaks ibragimov down... by the 6th round it is landing almost at will and snapping timurs head back... this is where the fight got boring when thompson realized he could just win with his jab, by the end of the 8th its clear that timur is frustrated and tired and cant get out of the way of a whole lot....

late rounds (9-10) thompson realizes he is in the drivers seat and actually makes a push to stop ibragmov... timur tries to lay it on the line in the 12th but just doesent have a strong minute left in his body.... thompson has him staggering around the ring but just doesent commit himself to power enough at any point to put ibragimov down for good....

The fight was terrible, Ibragimov just couldn't do much at all. If he couldn't win his "comeback fight", he should just hang them up, he looked like a B-level fighter yesterday. In fact, after his 2 last fights, I think he is a B-level fighter.
