Paulie was clinching a lot too, so it was a rough fight on both sides.

Every professional fighter is brave as ****, if they weren't, then no way they'd step in a ring with 10 ounce gloves against a guy out to destroy them, and without any kind of protection. People need to realize this and understand that using defense in a boxing match is an intelligent strategy and not a cowardly act.
If you are gonna talk **** then turn around and run the whole fight thats doing the opposite of what you said you would.. What earned my respect is that he talked **** and then stayed true to his word and didn't take a knee didn't quit and fought a fight he wanted to fight. I agree just trading like Gatti is ****** but thats not all he was doing and taking a hit especially from Miguel Cotto and not quiting on your stool and instead riding it out like a soldier does show bravery it shows that he is a true warrior. How does he not deserve no respect?? And he wasn't immature about it he boxed how he wanted traded a bit how he wanted and in the end Cotto came out a bigger man.. Theres nothing wrong with that.. your gonna get hit, If you don't want to get hit then this isn't the sprt for you. Say what you want I give my props to Paulie and respect that mother ****er!

Boxing is just like any other sport - you do what you have to do to win, and by Paulie trading it shows that he did not do what he had to do to win, so he deserves no respect. He did not fight an intelligent fight, and look at how he ended up. "Hit and don't get hit" has nothing to do with being a coward - it's not only the safest way to approach a boxing match, but also the correct one if you're more of a boxer than a brawler. Also, standing and trading has nothing to do with bravery, if anything it shows his immaturity as a fighter because he set out to prove a point instead of trying to get the W, which is what you are supposed to do.

I can tell you that the headbutts had little effect on Paulies face. If you watch carefully, all the headbutts connected with Paulies left side of the face. The first headbutt opened up a cut above Malinaggis left eye. The damage to Paulies face was primarily on the right side of his face, courtesy of Cottos left hook. Also if you watch the video, after the last round and the judges scorecard you can see Cotto yelp in pain when they took his left glove off. Anyway, Paulie got my respect and he showed great heart. But the headbutts had no effect on the outcome and if they ever fight again it will probably have the same result.
Yeah I saw that his hand was hurt bad.. when they were taking the glove off he was extremely hurt. He looked tired as hell also like he had just gone through war and Paulie looked like he wanted to cry he was soo disapointed.
