Shane Mosley: “Sugar” Coated Smoke and Mirrors?

This was a common utterance many made in 2006 when former nineties star, “Sugar” Shane Mosley destroyed another nineties icon, popular boxing warrior “El Feroz” Fernando Vargas, twice last year. After those two encounters most observers noted that Mosley, who prior to the victories was considered a fighter on the decline, looked every bit like a rejuvenated pug.

The article states the obvious - Mosley isn't the p4p top guy he was at 135, but to say he struggled with Cruz and Estrada when he won wide decisions (at least by 5/6 judges) is misleading. He's still only lost to two fighters ever. If Collazo wins tonight, it's a major upset, and just because this article exists, doesn't mean that it will be any less of an upset in actuality

thank you. exactly the reason i made two bets on Collazo.

The VARGAS fights were very misleading. its easy to look fast whent he other guy is sluggish and imobile

This is how I'm feeling too. Mosley will prove a lot tonight if he beats Collazo...

I saw some mosley interview yesterday,I wonder if making 147 is gonna kill him, he looked like skeletor. He looked like cotto looked when he was making 140.

i thought he looked great. i dont think the weight will be an issue.

He looks ripped. Strong, and it looks like he could be faster AND stronger then he was at 154.

But im guessing just from the way he looks.

his face is a bit skinny though eh?

It's already been shown he's not the same fighter at welterweight anymore. He looked like **** his last 2 fights at this weight...

                emaciated

fighters can look ripped and still be affected by the weight.

I thought he looked okay in his welterweight fights, but he had said even before the estrada fight that making 147 would be impossible, but to go to 154 for 2 fights afterwards and then move back down again... is pushing it.

Arce always looks emaciated when he steps on the scales.
