WBA and WBC super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler has now begun training for the showdown against Líbrado Andrade on March 24 in Copenhagen. Kessler did 160 rounds of sparring over six weeks for the Beyer fight last year but will do less now - and that´s probably a wise decision. The March 24 show goes ahead at the Parken Arena, a huge 40,000+ seater, but for this event be the arena will be cut down to a 25,000 seater. [details]

C'mon man quit the negativity. The entire board has been positive about your boy Kessler, and we will contnue to be. He needs (international) TV exposure and a few more vicious knockouts and then he will get a big fight. Don't expect one in the next six months, though, since it can't happen yet.
I'll be thrilled if HBO show this.Comment

I think its great if HBO shows it.
I didn't think he would get any exposure until he faced an american fighter, so it comes as a nice surprice.
I dont know anything about Andrade, exept i've seen the "Grant" fight, can anybody give some insight?Comment

A very large part of the fighting public in American is of Mexican descent. (At least the tittie bar near me that shows fights is loaded with Amigo on fight night, and my Mexican friends, not my white ones and rarely my blck ones, know boxing). Fighting Andrade if it is on HBO is serious exposure. It won't be a huge fight but a good performance can put him right there with Miranda as far as HBO new hopes. His style is pretty straightforward too, which might endear him to the American/hispanic viewing public more than, say Ricky Hatton's style.Sorry - negativity not intended.
