  • Lou Savarese Returns on 1/18

In October heavyweight Lou Savarese and longtime businessman Cameron Park both put on their promoter’s hat for the first time in what wound up as a resounding success when they showcased unbeaten Light Heavyweight Chris “Hard Hittin” Henry, former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez in his pro boxing debut, unbeaten Middleweight Chase Shields and local favorite Bobby “El Jefe” Flores to a totally sold out Houston Grand Plaza Hotel. Poppa, you can add Lou's name to the ever-growing list of heavyweights on the comeback trail. Here's my list in no particular order:

    Evander Holyfield
    David Tua
    Michael Moorer
    Oliver Mccall
    Corey Sanders
    Joe Mesi
    Tommy Morrison
    Lou Savarese

Bowe was scheduled to fight several times last year but for whatever reason the fights never happened. I don't expect to hear from him anytime soon.

How are these fighters jerk-offs? The fighters on that list are responsible for some of the most exciting fights of the 90's and early 2000'ths; show alittle respect ya damn tool!

the point is that they wont be responsible for anymore exciting ones, im sorry if you dont agree

tuas comeback amounts to fighting a bum every 8 months...

moorer is straight up fat ass 250 pounds after being light heavy champ

holyfield is older than dirt and nobody wants to see him beating up anymore fres oquendos on PPV

            savarese doesent warrant mentioning

corrie sanders had one fight and it was for a charitable cause against a no-hoper

morrison is a husk of his former self, healthy or not, injured already

mccall is the only one with a shot in my estimation and thats only cause you couldnt knock him out with the kitchen sink

Those fighters may be past their primes but I honestly think that their presence in the hw division deepens the talent pool and makes things a little more interesting. Plus, I bet at least one of those fighters from the 'list' is dealt with some success in 2007. Success could come in the form of a big (money) fight with a ranked contender or even against one of the titlists( Valuev anyone?).

Borges called Tyson a "five alarm fire" in this fight.
