wlad will be smart if they fight but he takes ray austin about as seriously as tyson took buster douglas, and righfully so, this is a man who DREW against Owen Beck

in the case of unification, if austin is forced to fight for his ranking he would likely lose and a more deserving fighter would get the eventual mandatory shot against wlad.... wlad shouldnt be held to an austin fight either since he went out of his way to challenge calvin brock who is a considerably better fighter and who should have been mandatory

I'm not worried about Wlad taking on Austin, Wlad can make short work of the guy.

But I wanted to see how Peter is going to perform against Maskaev. Peter has improved a lot in his last fight so want to see if he's gonna be consistent.
Depending on how Peter will perform we can now have an idea if he is really ready to take on Wlad again.

What I'm more interested in is to find out if Sulaiman will give in to this pressure.

Maskaev is suppose to fight Peter and Wlad is suppose Austin.

Absolutely and what could be better than Peter defeating Maskaev first and Wlad defeating Austin first.

Damn that's unification fight and a rematch at the same time brotha.

A fight with Klitschko would be the best thing that could happen for Peter, he could make A LOT more $$$ for fighting a unified HW champ Klitschko than for fighting Maskaev. And that is pretty much guaranteed, since both champs are willing to fight the mandatory (Peter) next, as long as the unification is allowed. Add to that the intrigue of the rematch, Klitschko winning the UD but being knocked down three times in their last fight, Peter improving so much since that fight, Peter destroying the legend, etc., etc., etc., and you have one huge fight in the making there. I think Peter would only benefit from this.

peter shouldnt be in a huge hurry himself, he is rapidly improving and knows the extra preparation could only help him... plus he gets paid to sit on the sideline... almost makes too much sense..

also, this will be his second run at wlad, if he loses again it will be awhile before he will find himself in position to get another shot at a champion only he is somehwta likely to unseat

in a world where valuev defends against beck, barrett, mccline i hardly think that is anything he can say with any certainty at this point
