Hopkins Not Interested in Tarver Rematch

The holiday season will not bring former champ Antonio Tarver the best present of all - a rematch with Bernard Hopkins to gain a measure of revenge for a one-sided loss in June. [details]

Hopkins knew tarver wasn't ready, but if he wants calzaghe instead, more to him.

Oh no, is this the thread where everyone talks about how Hopkins would just get knocked out, because Tarver is better in rematches? etc?

Hopkins worked with Mackey Schulstein, who is a fitness guru consultant that works with athletes who are moving up a weight class......but would like to keep the same level of stamina and speed along with the added mass and power.

There was no doubt in his mind, that Bernard was the same fighter at 160 that he was at 175. He openly stated that on the buildup, and it showed in the ring. If the 40 odd year old Champ can move up a weight class....and beat a guy who supposedly "was the man" because of his knockout over Jones, it makes a clear statement as to who the better fighter really is.

No more crying because the fight would be the same all over again.

I see no point in this rematch. The result wont change. Tarver is not even in the same league as Hopkins. Taver should concentrate on his movie career.

i would like to see hopkins-calzaghe come to terms, that would be the most interesting/entertaining fight to happen for the fans.
