Enrique was one of Jose Rivera's sparring partners and came up with him out of the same gym. We just sparred Enrique a few weeks ago. He had been training very hard and was really matuning as both a fighter and as a PERSON. Life is crazy sometimes....

This is the guy I was asking if he was Mexican turned out he was both Mexican and PR. Really sucks when I heard this, from what I read he sounded like a serious prospect, I was looking forward to seeing him progess. RIP. Theres even a front page interview on another site right now...

How are things going in training camp?

“Very good. We’re sparring today. He’s fighting southpaw to give Jose [Antonio Rivera] some work.” (Jose Antonio Rivera faces southpaw Travis Simms on January sixth.)

        Enrique’s a southpaw?

“No, he’s not but he can fight southpaw. He switches up nice, without missing a beat.”

          Life can be harsh sometimes

I had read a little about this kid and a few people said he was a serious prospect in the Jr. Middleweight division.
