Duddy Eyeing 3/16 Return at MSG

NEW YORK - IBA World middleweight title-holder "Ireland's" John Duddy, does not have a career-threatening detached retina, contrary to an erroneous report, and he pulled out of his scheduled January 11th fight in New York because cuts over his eyes, suffered September 29 in his title-winning fight against Luis Ramon "Yory Boy" Campas, haven't completely healed. YOU GOTTA BE ****IN KIDDING ME!!!

John Duddy is exciting and all, But no where NEAR PPV material.

He wont even sell that well yet. Hes not a big name at all.

But its at the theatre, so hopefully i can just convince some friends to go with me to the fight...

            Hes not a great fighter.
Great fighters have dispatched a prime Campas with ease.
            The exact opposite for Duddy.
            Duddy has to be crazy.
Following a close, unimpressive decision win over an ancient Yory Boy Campus he pulls out of a fight and then plans on going on PPV?
            Laughable.

I love the irony in the headline!

Seriously, though, great news that Duddy is ok. Even if he is, in reality, a limited brawler (I don't know this, just theorizing), it's good for boxing that he will be able to keep fighting and making noise in the middleweight division.

Can't wait for a Duddy-Pavlik type fight on BAD...
