A fight has to be retired for at least 5-years in order to be inducted. They want to avoid sending a fighter to the HOF, and he returns to active fighting. Tommy Hearns was about to be inducted some time ago, but every time he starts to gets a few years on the shelf, he returns for some bull**** comeback fight and clock starts over.Comment

Very dereving fighter of all his praise. Oneof the best fighters I have ever scene. saw him lose at 147 to a uge tito when he was past his prime. however he was giving it to tito before he got caught with was appeared to be a flash knockdown. I also saw him get robbed against oscar and chavez. true master of the sportComment

I can think of few modern boxers who deserve this recognition more, maybe none. Whitaker was the fistic reincarnation of the Will of the Wisp and in his prime, would have given any lightweight who ever lived a good tactical battle. He deserves modern recognition and deservest to be considered among the best of all time IMO.Comment
