  • Andrew Selby Pro Debut

    What do we think?

Bags and bags of talent, lots of flaws too though.

    Be entertaining for sure.

Still got them Haroon Khan problems.

    Kidding.

This was an 8 rounder and his second fight was vs a guy who was 10-0. They certainly believe in him.

They should look to move him up quick imo

That 8-0 bloke was terrible. Id like him to now look for a statement win (like Maruta on his debut) rather than beat passed guys with little actual value.

regardless of opponent, his footwork is impressive as fk for me.
call it flashy if u want, but he looks to be constantly balanced an in position to throw/maneuver. dont see any point in him fighting "tune up" opponents. step him up right away !!

Very respectable 3rd opponent for Selby. Briceno has been in with (and lost to), LSC (KO), Kiko Martinez (UD), Kal Yafai (UD), Omar Narvaev (UD) and Fernando Montiel (UD). Selby outpointed him easily and barely got touched.

Would love for him to use some of those crazy reflexes to land counters and turn that speed into power occasionally. His ability is really off the charts though.

Mick Hennessy is really good at bringing prospects through with tough but winnable fights so he is in good hands. Also could be some big nights in the future on the Furious ones undercards (should he win the Wlad rematch).

Looking forward to seeing more of him on Blackwell / Fury undercards. Clearly looking to move him into competitive fights quickly.
