    • Froch played it well. Groves got worked up because he couldn't get Froch to bite. He came across as desperate with his ramblings.

        Brilliant X
Absolutely. Groves looked like an attention seeking fool this time around. There's no way in hell he is beating a calmer, more professional Froch. All Carl had to do was calm down, not let George wind him up and actually engage in conversation with him like a normal human being and its worked wonders. George keeps going on and on about the same ****** rubbish...who is he trying to convince? Himself or everybody else? I did find the SkySports narrative a little interesting at certain points though. When they did that little segment talking about Groves it turned into a lovefest making it out as if he's some kind of genius then back in the studio when Carl started making George look like a fool they interrupted Carls flow by stepping in and saying "Tick Tock" as if to protect George from taking any further humiliation. Very odd indeed.
I have to be honest and say that I can not wait to see how George handles getting beaten by Carl. He has convinced himself(or is trying is absolute best to convince himself) that Carl can not hurt him. What planet is he living on? He was the one who in the weakest position when the fight was stopped. I wish someone in the media would address this fact and question him about it because at the moment nobody is. He says he has zero emotional attachment but that's a pile of crap too. His attention seeking reeks of desperation and this time around he is the one who seems incapable of removing himself emotionally. Carl wins the psychological battle this time. He will also get the job done in the ring but that was never in doubt IMO.

Both fighters are good for the Sport I just liked the fact that Froch has shown that he can adapt, Not letting Groves get to him is an improvement on it's own... Can groves improve on what he done in the first fight yes he can..

          • Damn this fight just keeps getting better and better! I love what I'm seeing from Froch, acting like a man towards the Georgie-boy.

            • Maybe its just me, but I didn't think Froch seemed right on Ringside last night. He might have been full of a cold but he was sniffing a lot and his eyes had that wet sort of look. When he did that 'cookoo' mannerism, it seemed very out of character.

Its true that he doesn't seem to be getting angry in a competitive sense, or rising to taunts. But I do think that Groves might be provoking a very strange emotional response in Froch.

Obviously, Groves taunted Froch before the last fight that he looked like he was going to cry on Ringside......and I felt a strange similarity last night. I've never seen Froch act so humble and without much bravado.

I really don't know how this fight is going to go, but I've got a feeling Groves is on top psychologically at this point. Not that it necessarily matters; Froch almost certainly has the advantage in distance stamina and he may simply wear Groves down over the last few rounds. But I am concerned a little by Froch's behaviour.

This is another angle I guess I did think the hands on the face was a bit strange.. But if someone you can't tolerate is pushing your buttons and you act in another way than your natrual reaction I guess you might have the odd slip up??? Maybe

Come on mate, you actually think Froch was close to crying on Ringside last time?

I thought Froch looked very calm and nothing out of character. I think he struggles to sit still tbh but I noticed nothing different to when he has appeared on Ringside just as a guest talking about other fights in the past.

Groves was desperately trying to get a reaction out of Froch and the handshake at the end when Froch was laughing was not something Groves will have enjoyed.

Groves needs to go back to the drawing board a bit I think. He needs to come up with some new material if he wants to upset Froch.

I think the mind games are pretty irrelevant though. I don't think Froch being angry last time had much impact on the fight, I think it was more his mindset that he could walk through Groves.
