@l1ght....a fair point, but I what was trying to get across by praising Mitchell is that he can see that Groves has a gameplan and that this could play a significant part in how well-adjusted, focussed Froch arrives for the fight.

Carl's brother, who is he close to, has already blown his stack which can't be helpful as they will have wasted some time and effort in getting him to calm down. And there is a deliberate effort to suggest that Hearn, who Carl is also close to, might not be so loyal if Froch loses.

It is clever stuff and I think Froch does operate on a fairly short fuse......Eubank did the same to Benn many years ago, winding him up so that he was all red mist and then Collins rattled Eubank later as well.

These mind games - when well-executed can and do deliver results.

Carls brother? Eddie Hearn? things that don't matter in the ring?.....I see what you're saying but it's pretty clear that the only thing that really bothers Carl is George Groves' existence. I also think that Carl has a lot of things to be happy about outside of the ring so is probably in a good place. The guy is getting the majority share of the purse for the biggest fight in British boxing history while doing it in front of 80,000 people at Wembley stadium.
I noticed in an interview after the shove against Groves that Carl was very relaxed and was extremely happy to be able to have such a great opportunity.....all the rest of the bull**** doesn't really matter once the two fighters get in the ring.
They both look confident to me. Groves can talk as much as he likes but I just can't see him luring Froch into being reckless in the rematch and if Froch isn't reckless then George isn't going to win

Froch by late-round stoppage! I think Groves was extremely lucky to have the ref intervene prematurely the first time. If that hadnt happened, Froch would probably have scored a spectacular come-from-behind ko... and there would be no talk of a 2nd fight!

I watched it in detail again last night. I think I've watched this fight 7-8 times by now, still what a treat!

In the last 2 rounds Groves is getting hammered with some really really hard shots, but there's no indication that he was enroute of being KO'd. But with 3 and a half rounds to go, I think it might could've happened but it's hard to tell. One thing is certain, Froch was on the verge of taking over in the fight.

What I keep asking myself is if Froch didn't take that full blooded shot in the first and it was full blooded,Would we have seen a different fighter.? As although Froch got up which took a lot of mustard, it would of taken most fighters coming back from that a good few rounds to recover.

Yeah it doesn't seem to be taken into account that Froch wasn't completely steady on his feet for a good few rounds after the knockdown. His body was hanging in their but for sure his head wasn't at the races and he was getting teed off on constantly every time Groves took aim......and yet after all that punishment Froch was the one who looked like the stronger fighter at the time of the stoppage.
The question is will Groves find a way to rock Froch before Froch finds his range and starts mauling him with unanswered heavy blows against the ropes because his demise is an absolute inevitability if he doesn't.
This fight can not come soon enough.

Wonder if Froch and Groves read this forum.....I bet they do and I bet they can't believe how much people are into this rivalry. Laughing all the way to the bank.

frochy need to be careful and not walk onto a shot early. Lets be honest that punch in the first round would have kod 99% of fighters. Groves looked good for the next 6 round because froch was still in a daze from the first round knockdown and was clearly not himself until round 8 where he started to take control.
Rob McCraken will have a game plan. im expecting cagey first half of the fight with froch coming on strong in second half and winning by stoppage which groves will no doubt whinge about.

I actually thought the fight was stopped a little early but as I said before I have no issue with that. Ref is only human. What I did feel was that after a minute or so George was fully composed. I didn't think Carl was. In the post fight when they are walking round Carl doesn't look co-ordinated to me.
                  Did anyone else notice this?

I wonder how the last fight has effected both of them and it will be interesting to see the reaction from both. Maybe even a III is possible.

99% of fighters would of been out cold for sure that's including Degale who I believe is fighting the winner of this fight sanction by the Ibf.. The problem that Froch faces is the faints from Groves, Because of Groves style And that he is faster with that right hand, Froch has to step back when he sees it! I can't see anything other than a cagey first half by Froch.. A win for Froch would be outstanding in the beating of a young hungry fighter, A win for Groves would be nothing other than the beating of an old champion
