I admire Froch's chin and heart but he loses all credibility if he
Doesn't rematch Groves. Froch and his team know it was a terrible stoppable.
I don't blame them for defending the ref but I think Froch has come out of this badly
With the way he's conducted himself post fight.
Rematch Groves, earn great money win or lose and restore fans respect.

OK, you've now said it twice. We get it. You have no idea about boxing. You're just Froch's neighbour or something.

Being a fan is one thing. Claiming he's the 2nd best British boxer of all time is incredibly ignorant of the history of the sport. Have you not even heard of the fighters Humean mentioned. Be honest.

He may be the 2nd best British fighter since you started watching boxing but he's not even top ten of all time.

Mate, learn the history of this beautiful sport.

Not prepared to join his movement just yet.

I'm still pissed about last week.

Me too, but none of it Froch's fault. The ref was weak.

One thing that has shocked me (although it shouldn't) was the ignorance of Froch fans (they're not boxing fans, just Froch fans) this week. One said he's the greatest British fighter ever and another says he's number 2 behind Calzaghe!!!

Do they think boxing didn't exist until the year 2000?

In retrospect I heard the same ****e from Calzaghe, Hatton & Hamed fans as well as Aussie boys saying Tszyu was the best of all time & a few others.

It's a bit like me saying Tony Cottee is the best English forward of all time because I was a fan of his

If there's a Scotch Egg in the offing then consider me in!

Aye, I'm in anyway. His skill level may leave a lot to be desired, and his delusion my rankle, but he wouldn't be the fighter that he is if he allowed doubts to crack open his psyche.

Froch is one of those fighting anomalies that boxing has to take account of. He consistently beats opponents who are more skilled than he is. I take my hat off to him for that.

First off, I had Groves up 78-73 (even after watching again without Jim Watt) and didn't think Groves was in any significant trouble. I have no idea what would have happened in the remaining 3 odd rounds but the stoppage was wrong.

BUT, Froch is a warrior & a great credit to boxing, not just in the UK but around the world.

He might well be an arrogant wanker when talking about his fights BUT THAT'S PART OF WHAT MAKES HIM SUCH A TRUE FIGHTER!

That stubborn resistance to know when he's beaten. He was beaten to the punch again & again against Groves but was still there and coming on at the (premature) end.

I was a big Lloyd Honeyghan fan but always thought he was an arrogant bastard then I had the pleasure to talk to him at a boxing event in 1999 (or 2000) and he was a top notch bloke.

The way a boxer talks about fights & other fighters doesn't, and shouldn't, define him as a whole.

I disagree with the stoppage and I disagree with Froch's post fight comments but I'm still a huge fan & will cheer him on whenever he fights (or be neutral in a rematch with Groves).

He has the heart of a thousand lions & a few arrogant comments from him isn't going to change that fact. This is boxing. It's a tough sport for tough men (& women) & Froch is up there with the toughest.

                Fair play to the man.

                p.s. - Slimshandy - shut it

I certainly appreciate everything Froch has given us over the last 5 years or so. For a guy without amazing athletic gifts he has worked his way to being arguably pound for pound top 10 before the Groves fight.

He is as much a warrior as anyone I've ever seen in the ring. His heart, chin, conditioning and competitiveness are top drawer. He has ducked nobody and near as dammit faced world class opponents in quick succession.

He has been technically eclipsed in the past by Ward, Taylor, Groves and arguably Dirrell too.....but he has only lost one of those fights. The Groves stoppage was at least 10 seconds early. But I'd bet that Froch would have went on to win, Groves was too tired.

That said, if I were Froch I would retire right now. He surely can't beat Ward. He ate far too many sickening punches from Groves. Even if Froch were to win a rematch by late rounds stoppage he'd probably ship a frightening amount of punishment enroute. Having a great chin doesn't mean you can't be brain damaged.

He should get out with his health. He has a young family, a gorgeous girl friend, some solid investments and a damn good resume.

                He'll be very well remembered.

Froch has had an impressive career but he has quite a long way to go to be anywhere as great a British boxer as you are claiming. I also doubt he'd beat Hopkins or Golovkin but time will tell on that one.
I'm sorry, but you rank Haye over Froch?

Still trying to find out what Froch did so bad in the Groves fight for so many people to turn on him on here. Find it strange to say the least.

Been a big fan of Froch for years now and that will continue.

Stylistically Froch looks bad against so many fighters, but his performances in world title fights have been in general, superb.

He is not the best British fighter of all time. I would rank Lewis above him from my time anyway.

Not sure, Froch has beaten more high quality opponents but I ultimately think Haye is the better fighter of the two.
